Best Forex Brokers for UAE Traders

The UAE has two entirely separate regulatory regimes for forex/CFD brokers, and "UAE regulated" can mean very different things depending on which one a broker actually holds.

What UAE regulation actually means here

The DFSA (Dubai Financial Services Authority) governs firms operating within the DIFC, a common-law financial free zone that’s legally distinct from onshore UAE, and applies a retail leverage cap of 30:1 on major FX pairs (20:1 on minors), with mandatory negative balance protection written directly into its Conduct of Business rulebook. Separately, the SCA (Securities and Commodities Authority, renamed the Capital Markets Authority, or CMA, as of January 2026) regulates brokers operating onshore across the seven emirates, and is materially more permissive: leverage up to 50:1 on majors is standard, with less internationally battle-tested enforcement history than the DFSA.

Neither regime operates an investor compensation fund: protection in both cases comes from licensing conditions rather than a post-failure payout, similar to South Africa’s approach. One practical distinction is that onshore licence categories differ in what they actually let a broker do. A Category 1 (Full Broker) licence permits market-making and local client-fund custody, while a Category 5 (Introducing Broker) licence often just routes your actual trading account to an offshore parent entity. A “UAE regulated” badge doesn’t automatically tell you where your funds are actually held.

One thing to check: whether a broker's UAE entity is DIFC (DFSA) or mainland (SCA/CMA), since the two imply different leverage limits. If it's a mainland entity, confirm the licence category too, as introducing-broker licences don't always mean local fund custody.

UAE-based traders generally rely on local AED bank transfer (often slower on withdrawal, sometimes with notable fees), Visa/Mastercard-branded cards, e-wallets such as Skrill and Neteller, and increasingly USDT/crypto on-ramps for cross-border speed.
